Memorizing Notes

  • Only need to learn from Fret 0-12, starting from fret 13 it will be the same as fret 1 moving forward, only a few octave higher
0 -- 1 -- 2 -- ... -- 12
     13-- 14-- ...
  • There are only 2 special cases that are half step away from each other, otherwise everything is whole step away from each other.

Tips:

  • 6th string & 1th string are identical in notes across the fret.
  • Notes on 6th string, down to 4th string + 2 fret => The same note on 4th string
  • Same logic for 4th string and 2nd string, but it is 3 fret
  • Same logic for 5th string and 3rd string

  • Pick a note and play that note on each string across the fretboard
